Delaney Rose

Four years ago today, I woke up feeling contractions.  I remember thinking that i was dreaming about them through out the night, but i was really feeling them.  I rolled over and told Jeromy that i think he better skip work today because i thoughtthis was it.  He called work and then we got up and started moving around.  I was SO excited!!  There is nothing I enjoy in life more than giving birth.  I know it may sound weird, but if I could birth 100 more babies, i would. The experience is like NON OTHER and i thoroughly enjoy the whole process.  Anyways, we called my parents and my Dad agreed to come right over.  And i mean RIGHT over. He flew.  He got here and told Jeromy to drive full throttle, its was his "only time".  Dad actually ran a few red lights to get here. Totally not necessary, but thats Dad. I wasn't even sure that i wanted to go to the hospital yet...but worry wort Dad insisted we leave immediately!!  So, we did.  We enjoyed the ride to the hospital and imagined what our baby girl would look like. Who she would look like. And what we were going to do with two babies at home!  I got there and things progressed beautifully and that afternoon our screaming little lion entered the world. Delaney Rose Boone.  The first thing the doctor said was look at that red hair.  What?? Red hair, seriously?  That never crossed my mind. She had a ton of brilliant red hair. And from that moment on, all red heads have a special place in my heart. They are like little treasures.  My beautiful screaming, red headed lion. My treasure.

Ruby was SO excited to see her new baby sister.  They have been the best of friends and the worst of enemies ever since.  I wouldn't trade it for the world. To have a sister is priceless...

The last few years have gone by so quickly.  I knew I was in for trouble when Laney was one year old and rolling her eyes at us at the dinner table.  Delaney is 100% personality and sass. But in a good way.

She is full on spunk and no one is going to change her mind if its made up.  Of course that is a hard thing if you're the parent, but a trait that i enjoy because i know that if someone wants to sway her against her will in the future, hopefully she'll roll her eyes and turn and walk away.

And those dimples, don't even get me started. She is going to break a few hearts, i can already see it...

Delaney has been a blessing to my from day one. Each day, i promise you, she brings a new joy to my life each and every day. I am so excited to watch her grow into the girl that God is shaping her to be.

Happy 4th Birthday to a beautiful little soul!!
